WP-1410.3 – PANoramic CAMera (PANCAM)
Overview
The bifocal panoramic camera allows to shoot a panoramic field (360°x100°) and, simultaneously, a 20° circular field at higher resolution (HR). The panoramic field is useful for environmental monitoring and engineering applications (e.g. rover autoguiding), while the higher resolution field is useful for geological applications.
Technical Performance
- Spectral Range: 450-800 nm
- Image Format: 2 x 2 KPX (4MPX)
- Pixel Size: 3.45 m
- Panoramic Field of View: 360°x100°
- Panoramic Resolution: 0.1 °/px
- High Resolution (HR) Field of View: 20°
- HR Resolution: 0.03 °/px
- Temperature Range: –100 / +120 °C
Applications
- Panoramic environmental monitoring.
- High-resolution monitoring.
- Lunar caves and lava tubes exploration.

WP-1410.7 – LD GRIDS SELENE Instrument
Overview
The LD GRIDS instrument is based on grid electrodes that exploit the induction charge effect to measure the charge (Q > 1 fC) and velocity (1–100 m/s) of electrostatically levitating dust grains on the lunar surface.

To validate the instrument, dust particle samples are exposed to UV radiation, electron, and ion fluxes inside SELENE (Simulated Environment for Lunar Exploration and Natural dynamics Experiments), a vacuum facility designed to reproduce the lunar environment responsible for electrostatic dust mobilization.
The effectiveness of the simulated environment is confirmed by direct observation of dust electrostatic lifting inside SELENE, as visible in the electron microscope image above.
